Same resort, different experience
The DoubleTree by Hilton La Torre Golf & Spa Resort is the hotel inside La Torre Golf Resort in Roldán, Murcia. It's a great option if you want a classic hotel stay. But if you're travelling as a family or a group — or you just want more space than a hotel room offers — a private townhouse in the same resort usually works out better.
Casa Sylvia is our own three-bedroom townhouse on Calle Dorada 8, a quiet street inside the gated resort. You share the same communal pools, the same Jack Nicklaus signature golf course, the same plaza restaurants and the same landscaped grounds — but you get a full townhouse instead of a single room.
Townhouse vs hotel: what actually changes
- Space — 3 bedrooms, living/dining room, kitchen, terrace vs one hotel room.
- Group value — one townhouse cost split across 4–5 guests, not per-room hotel pricing.
- Kitchen — cook breakfast and dinner in, eat out when you want.
- Privacy — your own front door, no shared corridors.
- Pool 16 nearby — a short walk from the townhouse, with other communal pools across the resort.
- Same golf, spa, plaza, bars — full resort access.
Who Casa Sylvia works best for
Families of 4–5, two couples travelling together, golf groups, and anyone planning a longer stay where a kitchen and living space genuinely matter. If you're a solo business traveller just needing a bed for a night, the hotel is probably still the right call — but for pretty much every other trip type, the townhouse wins on space and price.
How to compare like-for-like
Grab the DoubleTree's per-night rate for your dates and multiply by the number of rooms you'd need. Then check Casa Sylvia's live pricing — it's a single townhouse cost for up to five guests, with no platform fees when you book direct here. Nine times out of ten, the townhouse comes out cheaper and roomier.
Frequently asked questions
Is Casa Sylvia inside the same resort as the DoubleTree by Hilton La Torre?
Yes. The DoubleTree by Hilton La Torre Golf & Spa Resort is the on-site hotel; Casa Sylvia is a private townhouse inside the exact same gated resort, sharing the same communal pools, Jack Nicklaus golf course, spa access, plaza and restaurants.
How is a townhouse different from a hotel room here?
You get three bedrooms, a private terrace, a full kitchen, a living room, and your own front door — instead of a single hotel room. It's usually the better call for families, golf groups, or two couples travelling together. You cook when you want to, or eat out at the clubhouse and plaza.
Do townhouse guests have access to the hotel's pools and facilities?
The resort's communal pools are shared across the whole community, and townhouse guests can walk to any of them. The hotel spa and specific hotel-only pools have their own access rules — we're happy to advise before you book.
Is booking direct with Casa Sylvia cheaper than a DoubleTree room?
For a family or group, almost always. A single hotel room usually costs more per night than the townhouse split across 4–5 guests, and you avoid Airbnb/Booking.com platform fees by booking here directly.
Can we still play the same golf course?
Yes — the Jack Nicklaus course at La Torre is open to all resort guests, whether you're in the hotel or in a townhouse. Tee times are booked through the clubhouse.
